The BSRIA LSBU Net Zero Building Centre is recruiting a Research Fellow to support innovation project development and bid writing on the theme of net zero buildings and performance.
About you
You will have skills in:
Developing qualitative and quantitative interdisciplinary research projects focused on sustainability in the built environment.
Bid writing for a large scale funding application through a major sector funder (e.g. UKRI, EPSRC, Innovate UK)
Communicating and liaising with team members and key collaborators.
Exciting work you will do
You will support the Centre Director in developing a large scale funding bid involving both academic and industry partners. The project is in the field of sustainability in the built environment, focusing on the links between energy, building performance, and environmental quality. The post-holder should have research expertise in building services engineering or a related discipline. The role will include developing and writing the bid as well as supporting with the dissemination of research findings from other projects through academic journals. Knowledge and experience in academic writing, including bid writing is essential. The post-holder must have experience of both working independently in a research environment and successfully liaising between team members. The role is for six months in the first instance with potential to extend.
The skills and experience you will need to be successful
The essential skills and experience required are:
A BEng or BSc in a discipline related to the build environment.
A PhD in a discipline related to low carbon buildings or building performance, or professional research experience at a similar level.
Ability to collaborate effectively with external project partners, the research team and the funder.
Excellent written communication skills and experience relating technical material to a range of audiences.
Excellent organisational and research related administrative skills. Able to use initiative, plan, prioritise and organise own varied workload in a timely manner. Ability to operate flexibly and work to deadlines with tight schedules calmly and effectively.
Able to demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, equality and diversity, and its practical application.

This is a full-time post working 35 hours per week, fixed term for 6 months.
